Dont expect to need hospital care if I do get it, of course there's a very very small chance I could be wrong, but I'm happy with the level of risk I'm taking.

Dont get me wrong I'm still trying to avoid catching it by taking sensible precautions and following the govt advice (so far) but I won't put my life on hold for it.

I have a boat on Mallorca and have considered driving.

To me the drive / stops / overnight stay half way / ferry poses more risk than the plane with an N95 mask on.

I am not saying I am right, but hotel, ferry for 8 hours etc would not make me happy

I am looking to get me boat moved to France ( Boris has done a deal) but the challenge will be can the skipper return to Mallorca without Quarantine. The answer seems " Maybe" which won't inspire them with confidence.

The other way I suppose is I go. Get on and leave for France. Usually I would go Estartit ( Spain ) and then onto France but would just have to go direct - which is a bit of a range stretch assuming I could not stop and fuel in Minorca.

If he/she is a resident yes, but note you will might be asked to pay she/he's quarantine time, an extra 14 days.

Also you won’t know you have it , so passing it on without knowing and possibly leading to deaths.
 
Unlike most of you, I have actually been on the boat for about a month during this crisis.
So, I know the feeling of wondering what would happen if.....
It isn't exactly fear but on balance, if I were to catch it, I would prefer to be here in the UK than in Spain.
And Spain has a really good reputation with us in SC for its health care.
That was the reason that we headed home because, actually, the boat was a really safe place to isolate.

I'd hazard a guess that I'm no more likely to end up in hospital with Covid than I am as a result of a heart attack or car accident.
 
I had an email from port adriano in majorca saying that most of their restaurants and bars are now open. Presumably outdoors only and at reduced capacity.
 
Worked on the boat today and rewarded myself with a BigMac. On the surface it might seem like civilization has returned. But it was drivethru only and no cash (will this be the excuse to end cash?).
How long can we go on like this, everyone looking at you suspiciously and skirting around you, face masks long queues and empty streets.
We are social animals (well not all of us on this forum) after the Spanish flu we had some great dancing in the Roaring ‘20’s. Will it be like that, all of a sudden like it never happened?

Actually you can go for a pee!
Around half of the bars and restaurants have reopened, restricted to outside terraces only, and max 50% capacity. In practise it doesn't feel that much different although its a bit weird to have a waiter take your order with mask and gloves! They are surprisingly full as well given that there are no tourists on the island!
