Mallorca introduced more restrictions today ( more masks , smaller groups , beach close at 9pm etc ) and warned of possible more measures / lockdown.

Spain sadly is not looking good. The islands have been hit by Spanish tourism from Madrid / Barcelona. They should have stopped if but allowing the brits and Germans in and not your own would not be great politics.
Italy the place to be I reckon. Not a foreign boat in sight. If there are more than 3 boats overnight on anchor it’s a miracle. Get in to any marina at 5 minutes notice. Was blowing a bit the other day as we were passing Licati so radioed in and 10 mins later we were berthed up. There are other challenges ie the infrastructure and it wasn’t helpful that the chart said there were fuelling stations when there weren’t. Arrived at the first fuel berth I could find with port fuel alarm screaming at me and zero showing and the wife about to abandon ship. But all part of the fun. Now in Egadis. Spectacular. And of course this is Italy so the food is even more so. Can’t understand why anyone thinks a French nosh comes close. As MapisM said - keep away ;)

So why is it that the French Rivera is packed but as soon as you cross an invisible line, only seen on a map, it goes quiet?
I like pizza but that’s as far as it goes, Italian food is, I like to think, women’s food.

Population density .

They live on a very thin strip unlike CdA where they have built arguably trashed many miles inland .Over crowded it .

If this was near Cannes , Nice etc ....they would up the hills with high rise etc

“ Cap Ferrat “ 100 y ago ?.....or AN Other peninsula on the Italian coast .

Food
In the UK and in the wider Eng speaking world we are brought up to think ( brain washed ) Fr wine and food is the best , Michelin stars , top Fr chefs in the best hotels etc etc .
When I spoke our berth broker about renting our berth out while we took a sabbatical in Italy , he put his arm around my shoulder and said the food in Italy is far better then here in Fr .Hes Dutch btw .
Like you I thought Piza , Lasagna, spag bog .....that’s it .
When you get there and start to dig deep into the local menus ........the Dutch guy was right .

eg how about this .....a thin slice like a pancake of cooked cold beef covering the plate about 2 mm of so thick covered with a tuna source .Yup sounds horrendous.....what mixing meat with a fish source ! Blimey . But it’s absolutely delicious.
+ Much more new and tasty stuff .
Btw a Piza here are single digit prices €5 to €9 .

Vitello tonato?

You've lead a sheltered life if it took actually going to Italy before you found that?

Marketing. Bit like MacDonalds really. Plus the Italians never found Brigitte Bardot. As for women’s food I think I may let MapisM reply to that one ??

Naah.
Pope Francis said "who am I to judge" when talking of gays - how could I judge what anyone likes to think of Italian food?

Btw, I don't even understand what women's food means.
I can't think of a single recipe that I ever tried in Italy in my whole life, which was only appreciated (or not) by one gender alone.
It must be a French or Brit thing, I guess.

Romeo marine W edge of the marina near the Radisson do cheap anodes + air filters for you , very competitive prices , The main CdA anode wholesalers are just up the road so they do daily deliveries if it’s not in stock .

Lunch at a beach restaurant that I’ve earned after working on my black water tank all morning
J, if that lunch was a sort of prize you awarded yourself after half a day of work on a black tank, on second thought I feel more entitled to judge your views on Italian food. :p

Yes, on reconsideration, finger food probably wasn’t the best choice after cleaning the black water tank ??

All these pictures show not much wind. Is it like that most of the time in summer in the SoF? Coming from a mostly-sailing-boater.
No, today is really windy. The Med is definitely a windy place, often too windy for sailors. Many of the winds are named, which is never a good thing.
These pictures were also taken this morning of a famous windsurfing beach
