Good place for doing stern gear hygiene ....I,ll get my coat !I was wondering how you were getting on. We are in the bigger of the two little bays at the southern tip of St Jean and it’s lovely.

Italy the place to be I reckon. Not a foreign boat in sight. If there are more than 3 boats overnight on anchor it’s a miracle. Get in to any marina at 5 minutes notice. Was blowing a bit the other day as we were passing Licati so radioed in and 10 mins later we were berthed up. There are other challenges ie the infrastructure and it wasn’t helpful that the chart said there were fuelling stations when there weren’t. Arrived at the first fuel berth I could find with port fuel alarm screaming at me and zero showing and the wife about to abandon ship. But all part of the fun. Now in Egadis. Spectacular. And of course this is Italy so the food is even more so. Can’t understand why anyone thinks a French nosh comes close. As MapisM said - keep awayMallorca introduced more restrictions today ( more masks , smaller groups , beach close at 9pm etc ) and warned of possible more measures / lockdown.
Spain sadly is not looking good. The islands have been hit by Spanish tourism from Madrid / Barcelona. They should have stopped if but allowing the brits and Germans in and not your own would not be great politics.
So why is it that the French Rivera is packed but as soon as you cross an invisible line, only seen on a map, it goes quiet?Italy the place to be I reckon. Not a foreign boat in sight. Population density .So why is it that the French Rivera is packed but as soon as you cross an invisible line, only seen on a map, it goes quiet?
I like pizza but that’s as far as it goes, Italian food is, I like to think, women’s food.
eg how about this .....a thin slice like a pancake of cooked cold beef covering the plate about 2 mm of so thick covered with a tuna source .Yup sounds horrendous.....what mixing meat with a fish source ! Blimey . But it’s absolutely delicious.
Marketing. Bit like MacDonalds really. Plus the Italians never found Brigitte Bardot. As for women’s food I think I may let MapisM reply to that one ??So why is it that the French Rivera is packed but as soon as you cross an invisible line, only seen on a map, it goes quiet?

Naah.As for women’s food I think I may let MapisM reply to that one
'Scuse my pedantry, but it's actually "tonnato", with a double n.Vitello tonato?

J, if that lunch was a sort of prize you awarded yourself after half a day of work on a black tank, on second thought I feel more entitled to judge your views on Italian food.Lunch at a beach restaurant that I’ve earned after working on my black water tank all morning
Yes, on reconsideration, finger food probably wasn’t the best choice after cleaning the black water tank ??J, if that lunch was a sort of prize you awarded yourself after half a day of work on a black tank, on second thought I feel more entitled to judge your views on Italian food.
All these pictures show not much wind. Is it like that most of the time in summer in the SoF? Coming from a mostly-sailing-boater.
No, today is really windy. The Med is definitely a windy place, often too windy for sailors. Many of the winds are named, which is never a good thing. All these pictures show not much wind. Is it like that most of the time in summer in the SoF? Coming from a mostly-sailing-boater.
