She as you no doubt know carried Sir Winston Churchill`s coffin @ his State funeral
Yes of course; she's famous for that and I've seen her many times (I live in Westminster). But, objectively, she is a bit of an ugly boat imho. Where would she be if there were no Churchill connection? She owes her current existence to the Churchill connection rather than to great naval architecture, which is all perfectly fine of course; I'm merely disagreeing the sentiment in your thread title

I see where you are coming from, she's hardly Bain/Silver, Nicholson or Thorneycroft, but she's not a yacht, built as a working boat and she does possess a suitably working boat appearance. More Shire than Palomino.

But lets face it, most of the Dunkirk little ships are dreadful tubs but highly regarded, much like this one.

Hmm.

An ex-PLA survey vessel with an incredibly heavy hull, flimsy superstructure, now used as river "party boat" ?

It wouldn't be my first choice for anything other than a floating restaurant.

Isn't it great how we all see something different in the lines of a boat....... Of the Dunkirk little ships I'm come across, all of them had character and the same purposeful look that you get from a small Seaward.

I'm afraid I see a work boat with a less than flattering superstructure. But I still totally respect her.

I really must defend the ladies honour!
National historic vessel,built in teak,by a British yard,beautifully kept,oozing history.
Will still be turning heads when all our boats are gone
