As an aside, the festival was started with the object of extending the tourist season a bit,to give something back to the local community which tolerates us who park on their doorstep. The driving force was Paul Doody of this forum ,who said "Right,we're going to have a festival"____and bogged off home to Ireland!
Only joking, he puts in a lot of work to make sure it happens, aliasing with the council and local businesses.
NOBODY gets paid for performing, and it gets bigger and better each year.

Understand a 2 day festival 21/2 Oct?

Some folks here in Lagos are considering making the trip over (by car!).

21ST AND 22ND.
Sunday (23rd) will probably turn into a musical progression round the bars while we are still capable of singing /playing/standing up!
We have the Journeymen on Friday night----if you ain't heard them, you're in for a treat!
Downside you have to listen to me first----

Kick off 9p.m., intro by the mayor and interpreter then the s--t hits the fan!!!

oh yes ,it goes on till it finishes, whenever that is----:D

Start is now 2030, due to additions to the lineup!
Music Festival update: the Facebook page is FINALLY up and running----better late than never.
Having said that, so many new acts are appearing that it's probably out of date already!

That song only reminds me of the top deck of a Glesca bus on a Saturday night ----and of course that idiot who sang it every time his son went in the boxing ring. Truly horrible!!
Good luck in UK---- don't come back 'armless!

You need to phone a few charter firms in the area you're interested in. I've never had a problem chartering in Greece in the past without quals and, although I think that changed in some parts two years ago you might well find that you already have a piece of paper that's acceptable or that there's another workaround or that the rules have changed back to the pre-2014 rules.

Charlietran. Think you need to 1. Read the thread. Or 2. At least link the bit you are responding to...
Your post makes no sense in this thread. And it is your first! Or have I missed something?

I suppose the truth about sailing on the Algarve is that you don't need to go to Greece to do it!!

On the other hand, the Guadiana north and south of Alcoutim and San Lucar has so many visiting boats for the music festival that anchoring space is at a premium!

There now,back on track---
I have just been told that music on. Friday night will start at 2000, owing to number of acts to fit in.
The mayor, who was to open proceedings cannot now do so-- he will appear later.
This means straight into music at 2000!!!

Anyone for Singing In The Rain?

A trite wet on the Guadiana today. ;)

Wet, but Friday night crowded out!
I can't tell you how wonderful the performers were, since I was one of them----apart from that it was brilliant'
Saturday night featured Portuguese singers and bands + mixtures of every nationality you can think of
Stunning !
Tonight we will be in the Riverside Tavern, letting our hair down(what's left of it!)
