The things women think important

I think you have to read between the lines....if you can’t find a place to park your car....it’s usually because the authorities don’t want you to be driving. If the cost and inconvenience of living onboard is built into the system....then the powers to be don’t want you living on the water
"What do you do" then?

If, instead of soap, you used one of these....
Laundry ball - Wikipedia
People may not notice you discharging from your washing machine
Reducing the massive over-dosing recommended by the detergent manufacturer might be useful too

No experience with laundry balls, and dont much want any, but I have found a plunger-style agitator to be very effective when used in a bucket. Theres a type of Taiwan traffic bollard with a base flange that works well, as did a commercial grade sink plunger in the UK.

More speculatively, I wonder how steaming would work for non-delicate laundry. A little water makes a lot of steam.

If anyone spots a boat with a host of grey mullet floating belly-up around its thru-hull fittings it’ll be likely yours post-experiments with steam. 😂

You used to be able to buy small 'manual' 'table-top' washing machines, with hoses for water in and out, and a crank handle to turn the drum. (I think there were electric versions, too.)

I think a washboard (the other type!) would be easier to store, though, and you could have a mangle mounted on the pushpit. ;)

We had a washing machine with a power driven mangle attachment (maybe link something similar to the electric winch?).

IIRC my mother got her hand caught in it once and got some bruising, but I have a vague impression that it had some sort of spring loaded release mechanism that prevented limb loss

Yes, it’s a washing machine. In fact a washer/ drier.

They were somewhat surprised to find it there but it is very clever use of space.
I must admit it’s was never high on my list of priorities but herself now says it was one of the things that pushed her towards a Broom 42 over a 38 when we were looking at them - the one we saw in Amsterdam had one in the cupboard just before the main cabin and I have seen another one on a site where they have a washer and a drier stacked on top of each other.
Overall very impressed with the Linssen. This one is 13 years old but is in immaculate condition.
The only slight thing that is putting us off a bit is the Volvopenta D3 engine as there are a lot of horror stories about them. This one looks like new with no evidence of major part replacement and has been regularly serviced. Some older ones have Mercury engines and the latest (2022 on) have Yanmar but they are out of our price range ( £500k+)
Well - I guess you are looking at a nice Linssen / 40 - 45 ? They have this arrangement in the shower cabin.

If you allow 50L/cycle for the washing machine and assume it’s used daily then the 240L grey water tank will probably need emptying every other day even with only one couple onboard.

I’m afraid I don’t know what regulations apply in NL as to grey water but, if it is the case that you have to discharge it into a regulated system, then you just need to think how that fits with your proposed use.
Well - regulation is one thing. How you use it and what you (and most boaters around the Netherlands with older boats) is an other thing.
We had the same set up on a rented Linssen 45: We used the machine all two weeks ... not more and exit was normal on the Ijsselmeer.
Just use a fluid for washing that is no harm for environment (bio things).
