As a self appointed expert of this new technology, I’m happy to present you the most traditionalist way of making a Tandem set anchoring..
It is my strong opinion, and opinion held with near-religious fervour, that this long term proved method (more than 2000 years) is the one that will best hold your boat, regardless of the weather conditions.. For centuries, sailors have been using the Rocktandem7 type of anchor to good effect,
Some of you may think that it is blatant self-advertising, and unfortunately I will loose or at least damage my credibility, when I will tell you that I’m planning to launch a new business.. manufacturing and selling this new attractive product.. This is a very original design only slightly inspired by previous other's (not patented ) designs.
As you may have seen in the Web page of my new company, ( web page ) looking at the Video comparative tests, and also from the tests recently published by the French sailing magazine “ENCORE” the curves ( that I have only slightly modified ) show that this new method is by far much better than the absolute plethora of new designs all claiming this or that?
- if you have a Roktandem7 anchor of a suitable size for your boat, you are pretty well kitted up.
As an expert involved in anchoring everything from dinghies to tenders, I can assure you that any piece of rope will perfectly work without the need of a rusty / heavy chain.. (All IMHO of course).
Twice I had very strong winds and waves and to my joy my Rocktandem7 anchor held really well! I was just 20 feet from shore with the wind blowing me on the weed on the surface i couldn’t have left by sail nor motor without been blown on shore!
P.S. please note that the image is reduced for not taking the whole screen only for myself..
