The most beautiful boat in Gravesend

Are those holes in front of the helm position cup holders (beer can holders)?

I think that it is hard to comment, such is the astounding quality of the carpentry on this vessel that I suspect that only a time served shipwright or a very specialist nautical archaeologist would be able to even speculate on the function of much of the woodwork, it is beyond the ken of mere mortals.

I've seen a lot worse, check out the 3 storey houseboats at Bembridge or the jobs on stilts by Langstone entrance, even if trying to escape the Nazi's flowing over Europe I'd rather take my chances in a rowing boat !

Rip out all the add ons and it looks like a fine working boat hull, with an engine. I would like to renovate such a boat, great for messing about in, alas too far away and too long to tow probably.

Exactly, its easy to mock, but for someone with little money and lots of enthusiasm that could make a fine boat to be proud of.
