Hopefully the administrators may be able to turn it around enough to encourage a new company to take it on.

With the lock gate failure at Caernarfon and this it really is a sad time for the Menai straight boating community.

It's not getting any better.

Deganwy Marina is suffering from regular problems with gate operation. This can probably be attributed to the poor job done by the Karcher washer dinghy dredger contracted with Cardiff Marine Group.

Conwy Marina now shut for a week and hoist out of action for two weeks.

All the marine groups marinas with the exception of Watchet are now out of the hands of the odious Smee and in administration.

Sadly for Watchet it appears the existing leaseholder is proposing to carry on regardless and pass ownership to this failing property developer. This probably depends upon the long running saga of capital restructuring of Bayscape Ltd, Bayscape Living and Bayscape Phase 2.

Sadly the local council won't step in and decline his lease on the grounds of his being an unsuitable person to operate a marina. The collapse of the group is surely enough qualification!

The dredger remains broken down , staff in many marinas have been made redundant and the harbour gate at watchet remains unrepaired.

I suspect watchet harbour is now in terminal decline as Bristol Channel mud flows in and settles again.

I don’t see how Conwy comes into it.

What is the current situation at Watchet for a visiting yacht that can dry out happily in soft mud?

Is the entrance gate fully open ?
Do the traffic lights work?
Are there any staff still working ?
Can you access the toilets and showers ?

Could it be that Cardiff marina owe money to the harbour authority leaving the two clubs to pick up the shortfall? You can be sure that the HA will not cut back on their spending.

TM&PG owed at least £70K to Caernarfon Harbour.
I dont think Cardiff will have been treated any better!
I think this just means the other paying berth holders will see a larger than inflation increase to cover the shortfall.
