Can you southcoasters stay away from the east coast - our marinas have full this summer and I saw a dozen boats when out sailing the other day. Busy or what.
Sounds as though that is a variation of the old trick of hanging a load of drying babies towelling nappies on the guard rails at Poole Town Quay to dissuade possible raftees!Interestingly a ~13m very new looking jeanneau had parked in the middle of a ~30m space in front of us and hung a fender on their outside saying "No Rafting: Covid 19 concerns". Perhaps they had a vulnerable person on board and who knows what someone else's situation is but they were making frequent runs ashore, maskless and without attempting to socially distance on pontoons so not sure what threat they thought people walking across their foredeck were.
Sounds over complicated to me. Just hang the quarantine (Q) flag out!Sounds as though that is a variation of the old trick of hanging a load of drying babies towelling nappies on the guard rails at Poole Town Quay to dissuade possible raftees!

That would rather depend on whether you had any other trousers on board.I spot cleaned my jeans and hung them over the guard rails....got some witty banter from a passing catamaran helm to the effect that my jeans would be a highly effective rafting deterrent ?
Perhaps you could share a 48 hr weather forecast that has been accurate in August? The one that made me cancel under read the weather by at least 15 ktsNeither of course is that a problem in the Solent (at least over the booking horizon for Yarmouth) as tide tables and good 48 hour weather forecasts are readily available. ?

It’s bloody rude hanging the no rafting sign in the first place - there really are some selfish tosspots around.I think you may need to revisit your ICOS
If they were self isolating the multiple runs ashore were inconsistent. The sign wasn’t marina-supplied (the staff knew nothing about it). Whatever: if you’re hanging up a “no rafting” sign it’s pretty rude to park across 2 spaces making rafting more likely for others.
Milady insisted on new fenders for Jazzcat, but I've kept some of the old ones, because there are times when there's no such thing as too many fenders. A couple had been left dangling in the 'oggin for months, if not years, and are covered in barnacles. I was going to clean 'em, but maybe I wont, now.A couple of filthy fenders sends a clear enough message
In spite of my (mostly) tongue in cheek comment about barnacle covered fenders above, I agreeGoing along side another boat or them mooring up to you ought to be a happy experience, chance to socialize possible make friends.
