Sounds as though that is a variation of the old trick of hanging a load of drying babies towelling nappies on the guard rails at Poole Town Quay to dissuade possible raftees!

I spot cleaned my jeans and hung them over the guard rails....got some witty banter from a passing catamaran helm to the effect that my jeans would be a highly effective rafting deterrent ?

I think you may need to revisit your ICOS
If they were self isolating the multiple runs ashore were inconsistent. The sign wasn’t marina-supplied (the staff knew nothing about it). Whatever: if you’re hanging up a “no rafting” sign it’s pretty rude to park across 2 spaces making rafting more likely for others.

I find going ashore too much of a hassle.only do it to get supplies. Anchor up.dink ashore for nice walks and adventure.do understand that many enjoy eating out etc after a hard week but I don't have to consider anyone else.

Milady insisted on new fenders for Jazzcat, but I've kept some of the old ones, because there are times when there's no such thing as too many fenders. A couple had been left dangling in the 'oggin for months, if not years, and are covered in barnacles. I suppose August in a year when few can go abroad is likely to be very busy indeed. I've resisted the urge to go anywhere in the UK. I wonder if next year will be different? I also wonder if a lot of the people who bought all the used boats, like hot cakes, during the last 18m or so, will have amongst them a large number of people who realise they didn't like sailing, or found it all too crowded. Thus the boat market will become more "normal" and hopefully places to stay too. If I thought this was the future, I'd give up all idea of buying a used boat and just charter abroad. Time will tell.

Going along side another boat or them mooring up to you ought to be a happy experience,chance to socialize possible make friends.
