You have no idea how true that statement is. All this talk of missing keelbolts glassed over and other major failures just waiting to happen remind m of news items over the past few months adout such occurrences. Such as the studs in an inspection plate that broke when the nuts on them were being removed during an inspection and subsequently simply stuck back on using epoxy glue. Then there is the nearly new vessel that suffered a failure of a prop shaft that required a lengthy period out of service while back with its builders.

Such cases should be enough to get this thread moved into the Lounge joke thread and we, the tax payers are the ultimate underwriters of their insurance as the unfortunate owners of the vessels are His Majesties Royal Navy. But in the Lounge we are not allowed to discuss current affairs.
