When a new guest steps aboard my boat and I ask them "what would you like to drink" they usually say "what have you got"? I say "everything" - having 24 hour, 365 day access to duty free booze I keep my boat fully stocked and the boat actually rattles when the water is rough! Needless to say when I visit foreign harbours I am a very popular chap with the boys - not so much with the wifes the following mornings!!
Cheers

Mmmm....fantastic stuff. I'm not a big fan of bourbon generally, but Maker's Mark is a really good brew. Soft, smooth, easy-drinking stuff. Have introduced many people to it, and have never met a whiskey drinker who didn't like it.

Re: Anaesthetics of choice.

Now I'd have thort that you of all people would have had a case of Old Git on board. It's axshully a very pleasant cabernet sauvignon.

You do disappoint me oldgit! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Re: Poverty strikes agin

Am going through one of my periods at the moment. This involves complaining to anyone within earshot that we are totally skint and we will all be in the workhouse shortly unless "we' all cut back on the spending.this is followed shortly after by my seeing a boat we cannot afford but without which my life has no meanng.
At the moment a particular P35 in Windsor would make a nice birthday present if anyone is offering. It desperatly needs a new owner to squander a shed load of cash on it,and know just the(Ahem)the man.

That's all very well Tom, but can we really believe wot you say. When I was sitting on the khazi this morning whiling away the time I seem to (hazily) recall a review of some 150% proof rum.

Now as a regular reader, supporter of MBY and avid drinker I do think you owe it to us all to send on a bottle of this firewater for a road test of a real seaman.

As a true fan of all MBY productions I await with bated breath the opportunity to test this fab drink.

PS I do not expect payment when performing this onerous task, I do it for the greater good of MBY. I am a true IPC martyr.

G'day John,

Drink it strait; you must be joking, only a very select few have ever survived to tell the tale. I did it once and was as crook as a dog for 2 days, it seems you must mix it to enjoy it, now pass me the ice and lets have another.......

Avagoodweekend.

Thanks. Sounds like I better give investing in a bottle a miss then. Will be back in Oz latest in two weeks time so will try a neat shot in the bar - will be by myself so impossible to disgrace myself - well not so that anyone I know would know anyway /forums/images/icons/smile.gif.

Trust me, LJS, you really don't want to try this 151 stuff. I have spent this morning in hospital being pumped full of dye and then x-rayed to find out why my kidneys seem to be failing. Although I have prompt, smooth bilateral nephograms and no sign of renal tract calcification, there is patently something amiss (hence the blood clots). I fear the 151 may have done lasting damage. For your own good I will keep the last of the 151 locked in my office until it is needed for some industrial application (antifouling the KTM, or some such).
