I've spent a long time considering whether to get a fridge or not and finally decided to go for it. The space was there and measured up meticulously and would be perfect.
Fridge was purchased and arrived yesterday, got it out of the box all shiny bright and new read the manual and stroked it nicely etc. Halfway through the afternoon a sudden thought occured to me, I hadn't measured the doorway to get the thing inside, now for anyone that knows Prouts the doorway is not particularly wide. I spent a long time looking at said fridge and trying to guess whether it would go in or not.

Well just been down there and measured and as luck would have it I've got just under two cm to spare, what a relief.
Could have given myself a serious kicking if it hadn't fitted not to mention the kicking I'd have got from SWMBO.

If it hadn't gone through you'd've had to change your username to SillyPete! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Lucky that - otherwise you would have had great fun explaining why you had chosen to install it in the cockpit locker /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

We had that problem when we tried to remove our fridge from the boat. It fitted through the saloon hatch with a ba'hair to spare all round. No way through the door.

Buying a fridge without ensuring it will fit through the doorway is really stupid! Not as stupid as telling everyone! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
I would have measured the door, sighed loudly and kept my mouth shut! If I had wanted to tell anyone, it would have been a case of "a friend of mine....."
Also we all know where to come for cold beer in the future.

Yeah quite some oversight on my part and I don't mind admitting it at all it highlights a simple mistake that could easily be made by anyone but only if they happen to be as dumb as me /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
The fridge was just another item in a long list of things that we had been buying and fitting and of course was the only one where the problem could arise, so was overlooked.
Besides as Twister-Ken says I have a good eye for dimensions.
