from CanalplanAC - Canal Route Planner

This is a trip of 17 miles, 1½ furlongs and 5 locks from Richmond Lock and Footbridge to Penton Hook Lock Weir Exit.
This will take 7 hours and 1 minute which is 1 day, 1 minute at 7 hours per day.

I think that's probably about right. Canalplan is aimed more at narrowboats and things but the speed limit above Teddington is 8khm/ 5mph / 4.3knots so you're not going to make up much time by going faster. The total time will depend on your luck with the locks, if they all open like magic as you arrive the journey will obviously be a lot quicker than if you spend half an hour waiting at every single one.

Also it can take a while at Teddington to get the visitor licence sorted out by the time you've found a space in the layby, walked back to the lock office, waited for the lock keeper, fainted at the price, etc etc

River Thames guide says 3hours 29 minutes at at 8kph. Then add the time to go through 5 locks. ~ 40 minutes per lock. But could be longer if no lock keeper/ you've just missed the gate closing going upstream
As above, plan for 7 hours. Probably best to plan for an overnight stop
