For those of you who are against this project and have the desire to become activists. I thought you might like to know that all the parts are stored on a keyside at Felixstowe. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Ok Roger...Have to say I first took things from your post the wrong way mate!

On another note if your ears were burning today, its because Jim an me were talking about you at the boat jumble! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Alright, I am here now you beggars.
Yellow thing not for sale -and today was most attracted by Yellow Musto HPX jacket as it happens. Too expensive for me though.
Dave bought a Tiller today, and lost no opportunity to display it to anyone within earshot. He even splashed out on a tin of Le Tonkinois varnish to make it pretty.

My bargain? A pair of large cupholders big enough to hold the new thermomugs. 6 quid the pair.

Wind farm bits going cheap? Can't even bear the thought of an Airgen on my boat...

And a fine pint(s) of Cains 2008 to tell hoary old tales of the deep with Cap'n Dave (T_S!).

Usual 68 tons of misshapen ex boat bits. All 68 tons taken home again after a day of their hopeful owners sitting knitting hawsers or similar wearing the bib and breton. Marvellous.

Oh and he is a Prat but we all are now and again.
Quiche Dave?

The Fat Wasp

Actually you are a bit late. The parts are for the Kentish Flats windfarm which is being built as I speak just 5 miles from where I'm sitting.

Can't understand why we need wind farms. Most of the time, there's enough of it anyway without needing farms to produce more. And anyway, when the wind has been farmed, how do they intend to get it to where it's most needed ? Tankers ?

So whats all those props and parts stored at Felixstowe for then? Could it be another farm that the government have not informed us about, or maybe a spare parts depot for the Thames farm?

They are churning out the blades at a rapid rate on the Isle of Wight - even got their own boat (called Bladerunner) so they don't have to put them on the ferry.

The Kentish Flats windfarm is being supplied from Felixstowe. As of a few minutes ago when I walked the dog, there were 12 towers erected out of the 30 total, and the ship should be back over at Felixstowe to get some more. None of the towers have turbines on yet, so there should be a load of them lying around over there! Interestingly we were told that the ship would bring 2 towers and 2 turbine sets each trip, so obviously there's been a change of plan.
