Team Philips II

I am trying to find if there are many people out there that are as interested and excited about Team Philips, ( the boat that got wrecked in atlantic storms).

well myself and some other interested people are trying bring her back by the way of raising funds and sponsorship so that we can build another and prove how good she is by the way of capturing all the current big sailing records, I hope i can get some support and ideas from yourselfs, please drop me a line and help me bring her back.

Misplaced loyalty?

Very few correspondents here showed much surprise when the boat failed originally or finally succumbed. Innovation is to be encouraged, but not in the face of established engineering design. I wish you luck, but sorry, I shall not be contributing.

Sorry, but I've just pledged my fiver to the "scrap mooring fees' appeal.

If you wanted to do something interesting along the Team Philips theme, why not build a quarter scale version and develop the concept that way. I think one fundamental problem TP had was scale. It was just too big for the engineeering concepts to work straight from the box.
