Teak decking repair or replace

Thanks Kevin so its repairable rather than replaced with synthetic
I couldn't possibly judge from a single photo. It doesn't look too bad to me BUT I really like teak decks, so I'd go to quite a lot of effort to save it, and have the skills - I'm no impartial commentator

Thank you I’ve been quoted about £25 k for this and side decks remove and replace with synthetic is this reasonable

It doesn't sound outrageous but remember that when it comes to boats: it will always cost more and take longer than you think.

Your deck looks fairly uncluttered, if possible I would go pre-fabricated fake teak sheets.

Thanks that want around £25 k to remove and replace with synthetic including side decks but I like real too

So 25k for synthetic about right

It depends.

Did whoever made the quote check out your boat (inside out)?
Is it a firm quote or are there the usual caveats? (unless you run into unforeseen circumstances, etc... Example: there could be rot in the balsa core).

If it's a firm quote, it sounds OK to me, if there are get-out clauses the final cost could be as much as twice that.

Thanks so in long run it’s best option

I deliberated this issue at length. I decided to rip up the teak. I'm in the middle of the job now. I will paint the deck with non-skid. It will be cooler inside and cleaner on deck. It will not wear out and it will be cheap. It will not give you dirty feet, nor painful feet from the heat. There is almost no advantage to teak. It is a fake, pretend-to-be-marine-like substance. Get rid of it. If you care about the environment then it's not great to be cutting down ancient trees for no real purpose. Teak as a veneer is a different thing though. Save the wood for that use.
