Hello, wonder if someone can advise. Bought a full cover for my boat this time last year and although they said it was the right size, got it off fleebay, wrong size...didn't take into account the rails around the front of the boat. Want to get it right this time! I want a cover that is designed for a boat that can go right round it and be breathable etc...anyone help / recommend a company for this?!

Regards,
T

Bradshaws are very good for tarpalins. Don't think they do a made to measure services but they do sell just about any size you can think of. They are on the net or in exchange and mart. Is exchange and mart still available. Long time since i've bought it. Well very long time.
I have no connection with company.

But dont expect the Bradshaws polythene tarpaulins to last many winters !

Don't waste your money on the budget range though.

Get white or clear if you want to be able to see to work under it.

I prefer two with a decent overlap, one larger than the other so that the small one only has to be rolled back to gain access. (Makes it more expensive though)

Buy some polypropylene rope at the same time as the tarp.

Make sure you pad all projections with carpet offcuts or you'll have holes in it before you get out of the yard gate!

I have a small "Topgrade" one covering the old camping trailer that's been on there summer and winter for several years but it is beginning to look a bit suspect in one or two places now.

I have a couple of white "Topgrade" ones for the boat. I originally bought them to put on during the fitting out period after taking off a very heavy cover. They have been used for about three winters (and a summer ) now and I doubt they will last beyond this winter.

Opinion seems to be that the Monotex ones are not a lot better but I think if you look at the specs they are 1½ the thickness but now the old heavy cover (it did last over 20 years) is no longer serviceable I will try the Monotex next time I think.

A light cover (It may have been lighter than the current "budget" range) split within a few weeks!

Covers generally do more damage than good, but if you must have one get the proper acrylic canvas type from someone like Kayospruce, which is breathable and will last a long time. Have it made to measure by your local friendly upholsterer for a top-end job!

[/ QUOTE ] Well having used a cover made from the heavy plastic used for heavy covers on road transport vehicles for 20 years or so you could tell what damage I have not noticed!
