Targa alternative ?

What fantastic pics and a great looking boat. Why don't we see it in the UK. Any idea on the cost?

Gawd that's awful /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I like the Askeladen except there's no open air helming position. The rear door to the wheelhouse looks low plus there's what looks like a very deep step down into it - sure cause of bashed head on exiting /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Price sounds quite good - certainly cheaper than Targa 25.

I think the main entrance is by the driver and the back door is, well, a back door /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Interior pic here

There is the optional external steering position too, stbd side at rear of wheelhouse.

This is like the Peche Promenade explosion of the late 90's early 2000's.

Someone, like Botnia, produces a new style of boat and then everyone is building their version.

Same thing hasn't happened to Wally......yet.

Yes, I'd noticed the outside helm position and should have said "upper helm" position. On the 8 it looks as if you have to stand and look through the wheelhouse to see where you are going.
Agree about the door but strongly suspect that it would not be very clever to use, especially when under way. Same thing occurs with some Peche-promenades that have lowish doors with a deep step inside the wheelhouse. My head has the scars to prove it /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I saw the Minor 34 in Dusseldorf and she is quite an impressive boat, Targa mould but a bit better in the asthetics stakes IMHO, hull looked bob on and nice deep point bit up front for chopping up nasty swell. Think they have a UK dealer now.

Think he's just a passenger holding on to the grab rail. The 360 degree photo doesn't show an outside helm position.
It's interesting that these "sports walkarounds" are nearly all Scandinavian, an area with a great reputation for good design in other walks of life as well. I had many happy holidays, as a teenager over there and was instantly taken by the quality of their nubile blondes. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Unsuccessfully tried to google some pics.

There are a couple of pics of the exterior helm in MBY's review of Finnboat 2006.

"With the outside helm position high up aft of the coachroof, I felt as if something was needed running alongside the port side of the helm to make you feel more secure should you come across some rough seas. In its current setup it feels as if one could easily be thrown overboard."
