Enquiries ?

Come on, it's 2002, even in this country. Have they never heard of e-commerce? I don't want to send an enquiry if I want to buy something - where would Amazon be if they only took "enquiries"?

The dot com boom is over - it no longer takes millions to build an online ordering system - I can build one in a couple of weeks...

Tell them

Having seen this problem for myself, I have sent them an e-mail asking them to have a look at this post. You never know. Perhaps they will listen and try to improve the situation. Especially if it is costing them substantial business.

I've found that Gaelforce will try and beat prices quoted by any other catalouge and usualy do.
Calley Marina have a catalouge with price list. This might look pricy at first but they will match any price quoted by Gaelforce. Having purchesed a GPS and a Blakes Lavac I saved almost £60 at Cally. It pays to make that phone call.

Ah! So we've now got to phone around to get the best price. Then we phone them to see what they can do and maybe they'll beat the price, maybe they won't.

In other words the price they quote you won't be their best price unless we're daft enough to accept it.

I really couldn't be bothered to waste my time with them.

I see what your saying Joe but for me and many other sailors living in the West Highlands mail order is the only option. When ordering from catalouges we have to wait a week for goods or pay primium postal rates. Sometimes goods never get sent. Cally have got bits out to me the same day and no later than next day.
I have enquired about price changes; Answer: We constantly up date our prices staying in line with other suppliers, so we can give our costomers the best possible deal avalable. For those of us with no choice it realy does pay to make that phone call.
regards Donnie.

Re: Told them

Like an earlier post I told them (by email) when the catalogue first came out and likewise suggested they look at the forum. They were not very interested the 'top man' replied along the lines that they felt they had got it right. Be interesting to see if they still think that way or put another way move over Simpson Lawrence!!
