Arleigh Group is the parent company for ASAP supplies and Arleigh, Nova Leisure, Midland Chandlers, and Aquafax,
There's also LKQ Leisure and Marine in the mix there somewhere, I've not looked at the full company structure.
They also appear to be a big supplier to the caravan/motorhome market.
When I've looked at this type of company structures in the past, but not specifically Arleigh, I've found that they have a serial string structure, which looks something like this:
Importer, the arm which imports and looks after import duty and compliance with UK standards.
A group holding company.
Then specialised sales companies.
And there can more intermediate companies, ie there's often a wholesale company in there somewhere.
Each one of these subentries, has running cost and has to make a profit, that all adds up to a big mark-up on the price manufacturer charges.
I've found that buying from an EU supplier is often cheaper, especially if the cost is below the import duty threshold, and they usually have stock.

Can you see if and when they took over Asap?

The ASAP Supplies website says that it isn't now a separate company but simply trading name of LKQ Group (UK) Ltd. ASAP Supplies exists as a separate company but it looks as if it is now being closed down as it's now dormant after a company reorganization where its business was combined into that of its parent company.

The company accounts for both companies are available for free from the Companies House website (as they are for all active England and Wales companies). The latest filed accounts for the parent company are for the year ending 31 December 2023. They say that it changed its name to that from Euro Car Parts Ltd in February 2024 and that (in summary) the ASAP business was taken into the company in January 2023. ASAP had previously been a part of Arleigh International Ltd, which was a subsidiary of LKQ Group (UK).

This looks like a straightforward simplification and rationalisation of the businesses. LKQ Group (UK) is a big company - the accounts say it had net assets of over £390 million at the end of 2023.

I haven't bothered looking to find out how long ASAP has been in the same ultimate ownership. If it matters to you enough to do the work you can go back through the accounts of Arleigh and LKQ / Euro Car Parts.

You should only buy marine boat parts from chandlers that you can't buy anywhere else. Not items that can be found in tractor shops or electrical wholesalers. Stick to the items you can't buy anywhere else and then you won't be undercut.
