When fishermen here in Galicia( a fairly hot summer and drying north winds.) used to wet down their dories and leave the exposed seating covered with cloths soaked in seawater……now only a few retired fishermen do thetas working boats are now glassfibre. If their boats had been ashore for a while in the summer they would sink them.

A white boat cover would help. Also chucking the occasional bucket of sea water into it. Obviously, if left in a dinghy park in the sun it will shrink. How much it leaks will depend on the overall condition and the state of the fastenings particularly. I doubt it would enjoy the trip to Tassie in a container.
