An avtar is the little doo-hickey in the sci-fi program "stargate" or the little picture next to a name, I think?

Being a non drinker, it's about time that being drunk while in charge of a 3 or even a 14 ton behemoth with no brakes and in some cases limited visibility was made punishable.

That is however my opinion and if anyone is offended I do apologise

£2.5k seems a bit (well a lot) disproportionate. Was the RIB being helmed dangerously or just creating excessive wash? You get less for rape and pillage these days. Cant help thinking that its a shame that boating is more and more infested by nanny state busybodies intent on regulating us.

Great to see enforcement and substantial fines. A few of those and word will soon get round! Commercial Masters and Crews have long been under much greater prosecutions whilst recreational craft have been ignored. Don't speed and you won't get a ticket!!

Heard that a few river cowboys were pulled up in the Orwell on Sunday for speeding. Don't know if any tickets were issued.

The Tossers of the Lakes have been out skiing again.
Yesterday evening they were playing with the warden. As he stopped one, the other would set off in the opposite direction.
Some MOBO pilots sort of joined in but then scurried behind an island.

I have a mole at the LDNPA (which doesn't mean I'm on their side) who tells me that they are quite pleased Tony Kemp has upped the profile of the protests as in their opinion his campaign had been going quite well.
The latest 'civil disobedience' is frittering away his support and his cynical paliamentary candidacy is seen generally as a way to get massive free publicity at the cost of an election deposit.
