Tab sail\'s

Are Tab sail's still going and if so do you know web / email address as I’ve just purchased a boat with Tab Mast and sail's ect and im having trouble with the roller reefing on the fore sail.

The drum jam's when trying to furl or unfurl the sail, the only way to make it work is to jiggle the reefing or jib sheet or to hold the base of the drum and then it works fine.

The problem is that when tension is taken on ether line the slake in the for stay makes the outer drum jam on the inner drum.

Any ideas would be a great help.

Hi Pete,

I am fairly sure Tab Sails no longer exist.

Make sure you have enough tension in your fore stay and not to much haliard tension, you should only need to pull the sail up by hand and maybe just tweek it with a winch (unless you have a 60 footer or something), also make sure that the reefing line has a fair lead to the first stanchion block. all the above can cause things to jam. If this doesn't help you will probably need to replace the system.
