SX Micro VHF

When I came to use it this year, I found I was transmitting but reception was garbled. I have been told that the speaker in a HH is the first thing to go. Is it worth sending it away for repair? Is a DIY solution practicable? What is the specification of the speaker?

If it is the speaker itself that has failed then you could always try an extension speaker (if you have a socket).

Check out www.eBay.co.uk then > sports > boating where I think there are a couple of speakers on "Buy it Now" at about £10.

If it works - fine. If it doesn't then at least you have an extension speaker for when it is repaired!!

Best regards ;o)

I don't have one so I can't say for sure but I would be very surprised if it was more than the small speaker you can get from Maplin for abot £1.50.
If it fits mechanically then try lightly varnishing the cone to save you having to replace it again.
