Swanick Boat Show

Did they actually sell any boats?

According to my contact in Princess, they had managed to get signatures on five contracts between Thursday and Saturday. He did say that they had been working their way towards to the deals since the election result was announced (apparently, the phones started to ring soon after) but the actual signatures took place at the show.

We asked the same of one of the Boats.co.uk guys and he said it was more a case of keeping in touch with prospective clients than actively looking to sell.

Having said that, as we were getting off a 48ft Sunseaker a family returned and the chap announced that they kept getting drawn back to that one and the wife had already come up with a name. So maybe a sale was made.

That's good - boat sales could do with a boost.

We're on D and we're not posh! Congrats on the finish yesterday by the way - didn't get the chance to say hello.

Hi mike, I did look for you at signing on etc. yes we had a mixed day, road book was a bit off track, co driver got us lost going to stage 3, blaming the road book I told him proper co drivers use old fashioned OS maps, but like charts but he would not know that as he hates boats water and the sea! People have no taste these days.
Dyfi stage wasn't kind to us, we lost second class place to Jake in the RX7 as we went off , slight brush with the trees causing a bit of damage, lost about 15 seconds as we were 4 up in him prior to that stage, eventually ended up 10 secs behind him at the finish. I'm holding on to my 3rd overall silver star driver , I'd be happy with that at the end of the year. 5 more to go so a long way off yet. They say reliability and consistency wins championships, well according to Dabid Sutton anyway. Sorry this isn't boaty folks but Nico and myself share the sport of rallying as well as boats.
