Swanick Boat Show

Im there tomorrow for a look around, although only just bought a boat so probably best I dont get too excited about the newer/bigger stuff! Weather looks like it will be rubbish on Thursday unfortunately but can't make it down at the weekend. CLOUD9 is there having a minor refit before I take her to Torquay. If you see a fat bald 50 year old say hello! (Probably doesn't narrow it down that much in a marina...!

I was gonna say! lol

Andrew, they now have fob gated access for berth holders to D & E pontoons and don't know if that'll be open this weekend for visitors but if not, there's usually plenty of parking on site but try to get there early as it does get busy.
No need to bring food as there are plenty of options as Trevor says.
It really is a very informal and relaxed affair, last year (iirc) they had live music which was a nice touch.

:)
DAndE is the posh end of the marina .

You'll find me underneath one of these, shouldn't be too many like it.

It was that exciting, we were back in the new forest for a pub carvery by 1330 using their free wifi, to be fair we only went to view the Fleming 55, got to speak to the skipper he said the owner has just arrived and he was off to Cowes, well it did have a rys burgee flying, so allinall a total waste of time and fuel. didn't see you or your dog Pete.;)

Shame, we were there from about 12 - 1:30pm. Great selection of boats on the water with very friendly and relaxed sales people and totally unrestricted viewing of the boats. Good fun poking around the big S/S yachts and Maseratis and McClaren cars.

Valiant effort by Richard Bates to flog me their 2013 ex boatshow T38. Even with the HUGE discount, it was still too dear for me (very nice boat though).

We dropped in late afternoon and spent a very plesant couple of hours looking over some of the larger craft.

Way out of our price bracket, but we were made to feel very welcome, especially on the Princess range by the Boats.co.uk guys.

The other half getting rather comfortable...

Very good day, easy to get onto the boats.
Great hospitality, the beer that landau had was fab as was Sunseeker champagne
All of the boats were well beyond our means but came away with some good ideas on how to face lift our boat so a great day.

Might head over to Port Hamble tomorrow to dispose of our old flares

We wandered around yesterday and spent a pleasant half an hour talking to HenryF while sat on the Princess 56. The sales staff were fantastic on all the boats we went on and couldn't have been more welcoming, I really like the relaxed atmosphere of the show compared to the hustle and bustle of SIBS and LIBS and hope that it continues.
