Swan & Baltic - differences in basic approach?

Strange question maybe: Is there a difference in the basic approach, a kind of "philosophical" difference between a Swan (461/52) and a Baltic (50) boat? I mean both yards are only a few miles appart, both utilize more or less the same design. Perhaps they have varying focal points like sailing quality, light or strong wind behaviour, liveaboard suitability? Is there a difference in building quality, something a layman doesn't spot at a boat show, something that shows over time?
