Now that's a proper superyacht if you can carry a 55 foot sailboat aboard
The info in the press article is out of date. The 55ft sailing boat was replaced by a larger one that is fully computer controlled. I met a superyacht crew that had sailed on it.
We were in St Barts, Caribbean at Christmas. This was one of 50 superyachts at anchor. Several were larger

It's got a swim platform on the back, so not so different from many other yachts, so common and I bet he thinks he is being unique.

An ex crew member came to our sailing school in Gib for some training. He had some great stories about life onboard. One of his jobs was driving that 65 foot Sunseeker you can see on deck. It was specially reinforced to be lifted in and out.
The vessel actually docked in Gib halfway through his training so we did a close sail by for him. Hence the stories. Most not repeatable. ?
Vessels like that are frequent visitors to Gib for bunkers.....no tax on marine diesel.

The other half? The other 0.05% you mean.
Your figure is out by a factor of about a hundred thousand times. A quick Google search says there are only 2,200 people worth more than $1bn globally. That's 0.0000003% of the global population, but someone worth that little wouldn't be wise to be spending his relatively small fortune running a $200m boat.

If you come from somewhere civilised then moved there, worked there then escaped back to normality you would:oops:
i was hoping you might have explained a little . " doom " is not previlant in Aberdeen , all work and no play makes for a dull boy irrespective of where you come from . you might not like the aberdeen attitude towards outsiders and perhaps they did not like you , ( or the capt , certainly if he was waving his unionist blue white and red credentials around ) but doom they are not .
are you actually suggesting " civilised " and Alness have some connection ? :p

I did live there for 14 years full time and enjoyed a fair amount of it - but I think you need to be born a ‘Fit-Liker’ to really get it..

It has (or had) a lot going for it but as soon as the majors complete their move out it will die on its arse. Mind you there will be some very nice houses going for not a lot of money.
