Because the OP only has 2 posts to his name, one of which is the current post, he’s a newbie as such and the tone some of the replies came across as unnecessarily arrogant in tone instead of friendly.
Would you call the tone of his totally uncircumstantial request friendly, to start with?

How can the tone of any of the posts cause him to not return, when he hasn't been back to the forum, so could not have seen any of the replies ?

At the time the posts were made, no one except possibly a clairvoyant, would have known the OP wasn’t returning to the thread - myself included. Also, the OP was only made a day ago so maybe he still will return to his thread although i don’t know whether he will or not.

It’s possible he found what he’s looking for on a Google search

That makes no sense.

You said it's not surprising that he hadn't returned because the tone of some of the replies. But that cannot possibly be the case, because as he hasn't returned he could not have seen any of the replies.

Can't you see that ?

It’s a perfectly valid Q imho and experience.

For various reasons as well as plane curiosity. Not necessarily a decision marker .Don’t assume all folks think the same 😀.

I had a friend who owned a vast shooting estate ( partridges) on one of the Balearic Islands . Summered his growing family there . One day he bumped into me in Cannes.previously like most guys socially going out the women end up at one end of the table to talk kids , school and other girly stuff and chaps at the other and we had talked about the usual lads stuff , cars , guns , boats ,bikes , skis etc etc .

So seeing as he was down here ( SoF ) avec famille we took them out on our Portofino 35 to the Lerins .
Blazing hot August , flat calm typical idyllic Med.

On rtn to La Napoule “ I want one of these “ he blurted .
Well the S/Skr dealer is on the marina . Off we toddled .At the time the dealer was angling on me to go larger into a Porto 53 which I was pushing back btw .But I thought I would get brownie points introducing a “ hot prospect “

So that’s the background ^

By December he had been on the S/Skr factory trip and gotten mixed up in a cancelled factory order part built aiming for a following Easter completion.
I did say and credit to the team at La Nap they conferred- he should start on something ( was a complete novice ) on a 40-50 fter to see if he liked it then work up etc etc . Or have a bit more time on mine first .

The following Easter a Pred 92 iirc with tripple Arnesons arrived in the Balearics.
s/Skr are masters of end to end turn key boating solutions. Yep skipper , berth all included.

Unfortunately that Easter ( they do get them ) was the one of the coldest on record .
Family hols with friends ( we were indisposed sking at the time in CH ) but a few others of that circle accepted the grand invitation to go over .

I have pics of them the wake shot all sat on the stern seats wrapped up with wolley hats scarves , gloves and the wail tale of the triple MTU s belting out circa 8000 Hp , behind them - grey sky .

Listed it by September.

Reason = he told me he couldn’t stomach burning 1200 L / hr . Yep the fuel consumption.
Wasn’t bothered about the berth fees , the crew costs , or even the then £6 M price tag .
Skipper once showed him 1800 L / hr on the screens . This freaked him out .

It’s was just to go an hour to and anchorage and rtn each day was then £4 K - £5 K daily fuel bill .

It’s didn’t help the wife hated the water lapping on the side hull mid cabin windows when sleeping either .
They had never slept on a boat either . After one night , it was used as day boat .

But the main reason so iam told and he’s said it sincerity several times was the fuel burn stat .

I think if he had started boating the trad way - small then building up he would have reached his acceptable fuel burn number from the other end .

Despite the continuation of the thread…the information that he requested has been posted…once again showing the power of the forum
