Sunken small yacht, Newton Creek IoW

On the other hand you wouldn't want to risk running onto a wreck would you? Probably better if you stay away at least until the wreck is removed.
(n):devilish:
It’s quite big, theres loads of room. But I don’t mind if you don’t want to come, it’s even better when it’s almost empty. The wreck os in quite an annoying place but you can still easily get around it, whether heading for Shalfleet or staying in Clamerkin.

The wreck is between the pink boat and the yellow 'wreck' buoy. Boats were passing both sides on their way to/from the Newtown River moorings.
I observed one rib motor directly over the wreck at low tide, treating the wreck buoy as a turning mark for the entrance channel. Nothing untoward happened but it was only a neap low.
Had a chat with the owner and he is hoping, with the assistance of the boatyard barge, to get the wreck into shallow water so that he can strip it. Not sure what the final solution will be. He's a nice enough chap.

Wonder how hard / useful it would have been to add some black paint and turn it into a more informative cardinal, even if it were missing the topmark?

and what's his plans for the stripped hull? leave it on the shoreline?

It seems more purple IRL and think he's had it years before Just Stop Oil came along.

Yeah, it can't have been purchased from JSO because they started in 2022 and the boat was err... shabby chic pink, in 2018, at least:

Extinction Rebellion Sadler 29

Google suggests JSO did have a dreadful pink yacht but it's very obviously not a Sadler 29. I'd be amazed if that ever returned to the sea. Google says it was called "Berta Caceres" anyone know what it was?
