Sunken boat project.

You can get vinyl wrap in any design….what I suggest is getting your boat interior wrapped with a diesel spill pattern…..people will then say…that wrap is so realistic…you can actually smell the diesel !
Isn't it past your bedtime....

Thank for the tip. I've ordered one @£30 so will report back.

Off to buy 5 litres of Jizer fluid to de grease everything.

My mate recommended it. He's in insurance remediation so deals with floods, fire etc so quite knowledgeable.
I bought a cat N car that had sat for a year with the window partially down. Smelt dreadful even after a clean. Damp / mold etc…. Put the ozone machine in it for 30 mins, smell never returned! Dont breath it in though…at high enough concentration it makes a non oxygen atmosphere. I would plug it in on an extension, open every locker, door, bilge access, put all soft furnishing in and set it off from outside with the door shut.

After say 30 mins, turn it off outside and open the door so it can ventilate without going inside yourself. Its about getting the concerntration of ozone high enough to kill everything. Youll know the smell of it, its like airborne disinfectant smell but super strong. It sits low too as a gas so any breeze will help dissipate although it decomposes quickly anyway, especially in direct sunlight. Try to position the unit up high too due to weight of the gas. Another fan running somewhere else could help move it about too

They are a good engine with a unique feature of being air cooled…the twist grip is a bit too sensitive to set up in my opinion
Agreed , 2.3 a teeny weeny bit noisy but no internal cooling passages to corrode/clog up with salt, course everybody flushes their water cooled
O/B with fresh water after use in salt and of course changes that impellor requiring dismantling half the outboard religiously .

Maybe that's true for tender sized outboards but I flush my Honda 150 every time I've been using it.

It's just part of the routine for me....

Erm…….where are all the photos from today!

Be patient!

Have you all been checking this post awaiting news???

Anyway,

I've removed all the cushions that aren't fixed to the boat. Vaxed all the foam with Jizer solution.

Washed all the covers in warm Jizer then washing liquid.

Foam is now in a shower room with a dehumidifier.

The pvc covers are just hanging inside.

The fabric covers are drip drying and will come in tonight to dry further.

There is actually very little diesel smell, just wet saltwater foam.

I'm hoping this process will be sufficient.

I'll treat them all with the Ozone machine Mr. Googler recommended.

All internal surfaces in the cabin have been wiped with a Jizer solution.

De humidifier running now.

Photos as promised!

PS fuel tank looks full.

But of salt water!
