Since reading this thread, my Facebook feed keeps popping up with a Solent boat breakers page. Very sad some of the stuff that seems to be passing through their hands at the moment.

Just catching up on this thread. I watched an episode of Saving Blue Steel on YouTube last night. If you are ever worried about rebuilding a boat, I think you just need to watch Saving Blue Steel and see the amount of work that guy has on his plate. I was utterly astonished how much rust he had to cut out.
