Suggestions please - competitive club racer, some comforts, £18k

Looks quite nice for the price. Euro prices, so maybe it'll come down nearer 18kGBP (no idea if that's likely or not).


A completely left-field suggestion could be Mumm/Farr 30 - now getting down to mid-20k range. I don't know, but assume, that IRC would hate it, but it'd be bleddy good fun.

Never sailed on one but have heard much talk of them being the most fun yacht ever.

IRC will not be a fan, but it's not all terrible and apparently they can turn in great results in very light winds - could be something to do with the frankly enormous sail area.

Looks very demanding to sail, and as our crew is often a mixed bag of experience and enthusiastic newbies I don't think it would go well!

Dehler 31. A fast cruiser really, but can overtake a Sigma 33 if sailed well. Treated quite well by IRC. And if anyone cuts it fine crossing your bow you can always send them a link to the crash test video before the next race.
