I'm sailing the boat back from Torquay to the Solent this weekend & I thought I try & get as far as Studland on Sat. Any pubs around the Studland area that's a short dinghy & walk ashore?

In Studland Bay itself the one and only is the Banks's Arms Hotel. it is at the top of the beach path from south beach. They very kindly lay strong moorings for visitors. (White & Red Buoys). Just up the hill a bit (right at gate at top of beach path and on past the Banks's) is the Manor. grander & more formal but excellent food. The Banks's though is the yottie refuge. There are a couple of others in the village but few stray beyond the Banks's or the Manor.

Both can get very busy, there is always somewhere to anchor but it's a matter of timing, the nearer to lunchtime the further out you anchor, (unless you don't draw too much) it is a favourite spot for stinkers, they roar out of Poole harbour drop the hook, lounge for a couple of hours then roar back again, also the southern side of the bay from Old Harry shorewards is a haven for water skiers and the occasional PWC, that said it can be very pleasant and good shelter when the wind has any south in it.
