Strange Buoy

I recently crossed the channel from Fecamp to Brighton and en-route spotted a strange looking buoy.....It looked very similar to a fire extinguisher in dimensions and colour with a clear glass/plastic top about 8 inches with a light inside that was not flashing.....

Initially I thought it was an EPIRB so looked around for about 40 mins then tried to recover it and gave up when I though it could have a submarine on the other end...

I then tried to raise the CG but was too far away....When I arrived home I reported my find and co-ordinates to the CG who suggested it was a Man Over Board marker...and thanked me....

Never having seen one before....is it a MOB marker or some other piece of clandestine equipment....

I am not at liberty to tell you what it is and I was never on this forum.
You saw nothing but a trick of the light and you will not mention this incident again if you know whats good for you ;-)

Stay in Brighton for much longer and you'll find a lot more strange boys.

Found a £1 coin on the pavement.....Kicked it all the way to Shoreham before I picked it up....Some very strange ones there....

But what about the buoy.....Anybody know
