Straining rides

Did 17 miles this morning, first ride for a couple of weeks due to weather and India trip. Went quite well, with less back pain this time. The new gell shorts are great, not obtrusive, and certainly ease the saddle pain. Will increase the mileage next weekend hopefully.

Amazon. Just pop cycling gell shorts into the search. Mine were the very basic about £10 jobs. You wear them under normal shorts, not the Gary complete Lycra set up.

You'll be wearing the same get up as myself before June Paul, mark my words ;) resistance is futile ;)

I've got several pairs, cheapest and still comfortable are the DHB ones from wiggle.
And yes, you can wear them under normal shorts, but don't wear anything under them ....

Gary, Rafiki in lycra is not a sight I want to launch on the world. I have more respect for society :D

your fitting session didn't go too bad ....

Ok you orrible lot ...

what's your plans for training this weekend?

By the time I get home this evening I'll have ridden ~50miles so far this week - nothing planned for tomorrow then a club ride on Sunday - usually another 40-50 miles - but at least I get to shelter in the group :)

Being down south there is no snow and not much risk of ice ...

So ... what's your plans? On the road or turbo training? (how you can turbo train I don't know ... it's just boring!)

Nothing yet this week so I need to get my finger out. What's turbo training? Road work or nothing for me and my current routine is one lunchtime 5 mile dash per week (planned for today) and a longer ride at the weekend. Weekend rides are about 25 miles at the moment so I'll be doing something like that on Sunday. And as I have a Gosport Ferry ticket left over from last weekend I might head in that direction alternatively somewhere up the Meon Valley.

Bit too much snow here for getting out on the bike, so may well get the turbo out...

I bought myself one of those flashy computerised turbos last year... it links to my ipad (which I push out to the TV), showing a video of various famous rides, and then varies the gearing on the turbo to reflect the gradient, plus runs the video at the appropriate speed to match my riding.... makes the turbo session much more interesting when you are riding the Tourmalet, or the Amstel Gold route!
