Straightening a Used and Stored Tuff Luff

I know these are stored new in coils and successfully uncoiled. It seems that older ones are prone to staying coiled. Has anyone got any ideas?

Heat? Hopefully sunshine will be sufficient.

Heat was my first thought. I found when I tried it with a scrap piece that water at high temratures risked distorting the section and at slightly less temp didn't do anything.

What sort of "ham fisted amateur" would store it coiled for so long?
