I have a Stowe log and speed repeater probably 29 years old. I like my analogue instruments but the paddle wheel is worn to the point where it frequently sticks, under reads by 10%, and of course is prone to fouling. The Echopilot USLII transducer pulses at 10000 pulses / nm ; and I am wondering whether I can marry this unit to my Stowe instruments.
Does anyone know the calibration range of the Stowe Log?

Cant help with specific question but I fitted an echopilot ultrasonic transducer to drive my ST60 log. It worked but the readings were not reliable as the speed would sometimes wander off on its own. I have since fitted the Raymarine ultrasonic sensor--not avail at the time I originally installed the log---this works perfectly. Perhaps you have to buy all Echopilot or all Raymarine. Raymarine do an analogue readout as well I believe. The only downside is that I think I paid 500 pounds for the Raymarine transducer alone and prob quite a bit for the, now defunct, Echopilot one too.

You can buy all the parts for the paddle wheel bit from AW Marine. I replaced the paddle and the two supporting screws on mine recently - not cheap but from memory under £50.
