Hi
After some advice
2 stroke 40hp outboard on 17ft microplus motorboat with electric start.
Turning right is fine on steering wheel, but can only get less than 1 turn turning left and is very stiff.
Someone had a look at it for me and said it is probably due to the splash mount being installed too low so there is too much friction on the cables, hence stiffness turning left.
Need to move the splash-mount up. How easy is this?
Is it just a matter of undoing all the cables, removing old splash mount, cutting new hole higher up and re-fit mount and then feed cables through again? Then somehow feel the old hole up.
Never done anything like this before (new to boating world). Is is straight forward enough?
Thanks for any advice
