Steve101\'s threads call for YM Editorial

His threads have generated the most responses EVER here - and yet there was nothing contentious or ambiguous in them - All Steve101 did was to say that he was/is/has about to/has/had ordered a new (last) Moody 38 and the kybosh spluttered off the fan.

WHY? - What was it that Steve101 said that generated more methane than any other post?

Just wondering ... or is there jealousy that Steve101 has the ready cash to to buy a semi-posh boat? ... or is it that Steve101 says that he has little experience?

So what ... If Steve101 has ordered a Moody 38 and is going to sail in her (when and if she is delivered) then good on Steve101 - Perhaps JJ will take her out for a day test (with Steve101) and then we'll see the proof of the pudding when JJ writes it up for YM ... and if both JJ and Steve101 will agree then perhaps a proper 2 day sail including an overnighter on the seas might be a better test.

If both Steve101 and JJ are up to it, then could I be crew on the test too?

Sounds good to me. Lets just get the boat first. OR what about I write an article each month call "A REAL idiots guide to learning to sail." If nothing else it'll give you all something to laugh at.

both gentlemen , JJ and Steve 101.5 ( 0.5 added since his ego expands on a daily basis due to all the attention , inflation you know) are far too serious and accomplished to go sailing with such a crasy whatsit as yours truly.

but even worse , rumour has it that you have been punching holes in some yots at SIBS , and yet have not even remembered one of them was a certain moody 38....guess what will happen when it's going to hit the H2o ? [devil]

Perhaps we need the new stand-in editor at YM to drop the 1/4 page extract he publishes from this august forum, and instead have a multi-page Hello-style picture expose of Steve, family, house, cars and Careless Whisper. A bit like a Posh and Becks Romeo feature, but Careless whisper replacing Romeo. A shot of an exhausted Steve after the 'berth' of Careless Whisper. A dinner party shot of Steve family round the saloon table dripping with fine china, crystal etc.

What shots would other folk like to see in this glorious feature?

I'd like a soft-focus picture of mr+Mrs steve 101 in contrasting polo-neck jumpers with their pets, plus another entire feature on steve 101's best friend's daughter's wedding to a fat italian businessman's nephew.

I'd also like to see a feature about cherbourg, with details about how on earth to get there seeing as how theIOW is in the way, also Cherbourg's completely-unheard-of neighbour St Vaast with that picture of the nice fuschias outside the restaurant full of brits.
