Sterntube rubber

Hi folks, I need to replace the rubber hose between the sterngland and stern tube.
I purchased a new piece of hose but the wall thickness is too thick to fit my sterntube and I'm struggling to find a suitable alternative.

Metric hose on an imperial fitting? If soaking the end in near boiling water for a couple of minutes doesn't help, I'd talk to Norris Marine who know a bit about stern gear

Edited to add - a bit of washing up liquid on the inside of the pipe might help, too.

There is a specific hose type for the job, normally 8mm or so wall diameter in the smaller sizes like yours. Page 27 in here lakesterngear.co.uk/catalogue.pdf

It's a 1.5" hose, the issue is that the wall

That does not look like the correct type of hose. Your stern tube is a pretty standard fitting and the correct hose from either of the suppliers suggested will fit.

That does not look like the correct type of hose. Your stern tube is a pretty standard fitting and the correct hose from either of the suppliers suggested will fit.

It's the correct hose from Norris marine, sterntube is on a 1980s Moody so I thought it should fit but it doesn't.

I would then measure the O/D of the stern seal spigot to ensure the hoses compatible and to see what the difference is

1 April is with regard to your original ref of OD sizes which are not relevant and your original post looks rather like a troll especially to anyone over imbibing previous night
