Hello all

Not meaniing to rehash what has been covered ad nausium, but do have a question.

Does the UK ships radio licence specify the model of SSB, or do I simply get a licence for a SSB?

Idea is to install a 802 and get the licence, then disconnecting if in the EU.

Regards
Charles

The situation as explained in the numerous previous threads by an employee of Icom and an employee of Of com is that it isn't approved by the UK authorities so it may not be (legally) used on any British flagged vessel anywhere in the world. Disconnecting it in EU waters doesn't get around the legal status. BTW - I am not taking part in discussions about the implications of using unlicensed sets or unlicensed operators! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
