Srinking Tonneau Cover

If it is the original cover it will be Sunbrella fabric. If you try the wet approach and it does not work then with sunbrella get it very warm and malleable. Put it in the airing cover and then put a hot air fan underneath in the cockpit as you try to fit it. They do shrink and need re-adjusting every so often. It is an age old problem..boats are nothing if not trying!

I had this on an earlier boat and it kept on getting smaller and smaller. I sewed on some webbing and put poppers on the webbing. This also retaines your existing fasteners so that on those hot sunny streachy days you can still retain it with the standard method.

Good point................. if the press studs have any corrosion under the lip/spring clip, and most of them do, they are a bugger to get on and off. A good soaking with a lubricant, or replace, pretty easy to do yourself.

The eye, hook and stretchy cord will certainly give you plenty of scope.

too short cover: try tool or extenders

Two ideas:

1) You can buy a tool that fits over the snaps and lets you really yank and snap the cover down. Once its snapped and left a while, it will be easier next time to get on (with the tool).

2) You can buy a set of "snap extenders", little 5cm extenders that go between the cover's snap and the boat's snap.
