Spirit Ski/Sports boats

Can anyone please help me with information on Spirit Ski/Sport boats from the USA i have a 165 with a Suzuki 140 outboard approx 1990 and would like to know more about these boats.

I have a feeling based on nothing but years of boating that the Spirit 165 is in fact a Canadian boat.
