Speed Seal

Real shame as I wanted one for my 1GM10.

Have you seen these Richard? Not the same but I'm temped to give them a go, they make them for a few different engines.
Thumb Screws to fit YANMAR 1GM / 1GM10 Sea Raw Water Pump Cover Plate - Qty 3 | eBay
Anyone tried these?
Yes, there are others such as these KNURLED THUMB SCREWS STAINLESS STEEL HAND GRIP KNOB BOLTS M4 HIGH TYPE SILVER | eBay but top tip, if you have a deep bilge under your engine, buy a few spares in case you drop one. One of mine is still down there somewhere.

I actually prefer to bond in lengths of studding and use thumb-nuts. Easier to slide the cover over the studs before screwing on the nuts and less chance of dropping the cover if you do not have easy access.

Any chance someone knows the actual dimensions of these screws for the 1gm10? I'm in the States and ordering off of these links puts me into UK sites so the postage winds up being more than the thumb screws. If I had the dimensions I could order off Amazon or take it to the local hardware store.

Its not just the knurled screws, Speed seal kit included a thicker cover plate with a circular groove cut in it, this groove accepts the nitrile O ring, which does the sealing.

Johnson / Jabsco standard is M4 x8 - ISO1207

I purchased a box of same AIS 316 with hex head and flange (different ISO). A friend fitted studs (with threadlocking fluid) to enable easy fitment of gasket/seal and lid, then to put on washers and nuts.

Another option would be wing screws or wing nuts.

Tip: Before removal put an alignment mark on the pump house and the lid (permanent marker will do).
Some of the lids can be fitted only in one position so nice to know when refitting.

I just went to the local hardware store, not a chain, that deals in nuts a bolts of any flavour and colour with the existing bolt and asked for a hex head match. I bought 10 in stainless, as they are easily lost. On reflection I should have bought some with hex head, better butterfly, with serrated flange - if such a device exists. Post 5 above is useful.

From memory someone has taken up the Speed seal concept - there was a long thread on it 12/24 months ago. The search function is there for a reason
