Spade connectors

can anyone recommend a "female" spade connector which can screw on positively onto its "Male" attachment so that it does not come loose or impair its contact during in vibrating situations?

How about two ring terminals and a small nut and bolt.

What sort of load (amps) are you speccing for ?

I have always found spades tight fitting but if they aren't then use pliers to squeeze the female connector a fraction then try connecting - should be a lot stiffer.

I agree - squeeze with pliers.

Spades work on motorbikes and they vibrate a lot. So does my old Yanamr single. Bikes vibrate fast and diesels slow, but spades seem to work.

Would silicon help if damp is the problem?

agree with all the above, if you are not splitting that often then a few turns of self-amalgamating tape around the spades will also help (but overkill imho) and will not leave a sticky residue
