Do'nt go there the weather is crap, harbours are full and wind blows the wrong way. First week was OK we enjoyed the first few days in Plymouth, weather was up to expectations, rain SW6 & 7s. Did the shops, maritime museum, pub and then had to move on, sailed to Falmouth, beating hard into a F5/6 again fine just what we expected but after a partic good trip to the Pandora where the horizontal rain pressure washed our oilies the weather started going downhill. Entering Helford the real deterioration started, sun came out, we had to go up river and anchor as all moorings were taken ..free ...knock me down with a feather .. we had to go to the Shipwrights Arms to celebrate .. food mediocre but situation exceptional. Had to sleep in the cockpit to simulate proper weather, lovely view of the stars. On to Fowey next, stopped at Mevagissey for lunch, anchored outside, then Fowey. Moored at Mixton Pill, stopped for a couple of days. Walked round from there to Polruan (took the h/h VHF so we could get the water taxi back). Had to get petrol for the outboard .. its a long walk to the garage in 30C .. many thanks to the chap who gave me a lift back. Tip .. make sure you've got plenty of petrol before you go to the West Country, its awkward to get. Next stop, Newton Ferrers (too bumpy for Cawsand) went to the Dolphin .. thoroughly recommended. Off next to Salcombe, slight concern in the entrance as the leading mark was absent for maintenance but went in on a compass bearing on the remaining one ... Salcombe was heaving .. to be honest we were glad to get away. Onto Dartmouth next, stopped at Dart Marina for a couple of nights (showers etc) but prices were extortionate. Met up with Graham and family, lunch and a beer at Dittisham and off for a blast followed by a bit of beachifying ... the dark side's a lot faster! Next day on a buoy at Dittisham followed by walk around and lunch at Greenways, Agatha Christie's old pile. Dartmouth is gorgeous!!! Then round to Brixham and back home.

You have my sympathies: we had all the good weather - the rain, gales and head winds for two whole wonderful weeks then it turned nasty and hot with hardly a noser in sight just when we headed home - lucky us!

Don't blame us 'cos you picked the wrong week! It's bin gr8 here for 10 days now with either offshore breezes about F4, or sea breezes about F3 most days and wall to wall sunshine most of the time. Lots of happy yotties about this end of Cornwall.
The Dog Days have been just as they should have been.
Tell you a good idea - give up work and run away to sea full time - you're bound to get some good weather sometime.

Well that's OK if you like the sun, but if I wanted sun I'd go to the Med. If I go to Cornwall I'm expecting a clement climate not a raging furnace ... doh!
