Does anyone know where I could obtain about 2.5 metresof marine grade stainless steel chain, round about 5mm. I've tried all the local chandelries and a coupleof internet ones with no luck. It is for filling in gaps between the gunwhale rails on my Starfish 8. Cheers

it used to be a stock item from simpson lawrence, RIP. it's just possible the people who took over making the delta anchor took that on as well. it's the sort of thing you see on sunseekers etc so you could try a supplier of those.

most people use a short length of wire with a pelican hook for that job.

Maybe but....

... chain IS better. I had a Hunter 30 a couple of years back and the bottom wire of the taffrail was missing. On a journey (by air!) to the Florida Keys I saw some SS chain in a chandlers there and bought enough to do the job. It was quite comfortable to sit on too!

Later the same year I saw something similar in Acastillage Diffusion in france but it had a rather rough finish.
