soooooo slowwwwwwwww

I havent been on here regularly for some time, so to come back and find "its still broke" really hacks me off.....

My renewals are due for 3 IPC mags......

Cancel time seems relevant.....
trouble is i will be the only one and the effect to the conglomerate will be zero!

Thank god its not just my pc. My pc is useless and i was thinking it was this that was causing the slow speed.
I get right hacked off with waiting for it to load.
Sort it out whoevers in charge!!!!!

Big assumption - is there anyone really in charge!! The silence from the YBW Webmaster is defending.
Took me 10 minutes to get on the site earlier tonight and about 2 minutes to open each thread .BT broadband line tester gives me 7 Mb so the problems not on my end!!
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I must be the only forumite for whom it steams on faultlessly! Don't know what all the fuss is about.

Do you work in the ybw offices ?

To be fair it seems OK tonight but it’s becoming a rare occurrence.

Seems unpredictable - sometimes absolutely fine, then back to a crawl again. We're promised that there is someone working on it and that it will lead to a permanent fix - unless and until they change the forum software - so I live in hope.

I got utterly fed up a couple of weeks ago, as did a couple of other Forumites, and stopped posting. I re-started a few days back, because things seemed to have improved. On current evidence it was a false spring and we're still as far as ever from a solution. So, unless it becomes more consistent, I think I'm re-instating the sullen silence.

Sorry Dan, Louise et al; I know you're doing your best to keep a creaky system working and to convince the guys with the purse strings that you need something better.....

Again almost impossible to use. As Dan said they'd be someone working on it full time and that was 2 weeks or so ago, nothing much seems to have happened. Except that it now seems worse that ever.

As I've said before, it would help if Dan etc gave us regular updates on exactly what is going on behind the scenes, as that would boost confidence that something is being done, and what exactly is happening. The last few hours have been dire at times, and then suddenly seems to run well again

Hi,

As you will have noticed, the forums ave been up and down since Friday. The reason that there are not prolonged periods of downtime as before is because we actually have monitoring on the queries that are causing problems, so they can be dealt with within about 15 minutes of being detected.

There is some progress that I've just heard, which is that one of the queries causing the block has been dealt with, so that rather than taking 15 minutes its now down to about ten seconds.

There are more to resolve, but this is good progress as it suggests a solution to the basic problem can be found. More as I get it.

It's taken me a while to respond as I was on best man duties as of Friday, but I was still alerting our sys admin teams of the problems, which hopefully were not too bad over the weekend.
