Re: somebody needs information about North East It

Thnx Angelo. The Porto Touristico in Ravenna do not answer emails or faxes.
And charging highly they remain half empty!!!!!

Re: somebody needs information about North East It

Lucian, your suggestion of Monfalcone does seem very reasonable.
Could you possibly scan and send me the address/tel no or your
marina, perhaps in a PM!? Thanks again.

Re: somebody needs information about North East It

Hi Brian,
If you are looking for somewhere safe to leave the boat while in the UK you can't beat Rome's new marina Porto di Roma. I left my boat there for 8 months travelling back and forth from London. They have 24 hr security and cameras on all pontoons. The staff all speak English and are very friendly. There is a supermarket in the complex as well as restaurants, bars and shops. It is only 10 mins from the airport and 40mins into the eternal city. I liked it so much I even bought a berth. I have now left my berth so it is available. If you are interested in renting it I will be able to give you a much cheaper rate than the port will. Let me know. mail@london-flat.co.uk

Hello Angelo and thanks that's very kind.
Our boat (10 metres) has been in Ancona for the winter and we will start moving north from mid May. Really looking forward to Ravenna- any tips about staying there for a few days would be great. We left the pilot book on the boat so can't really plan in detail but we prefer 25-30 mile hops in a day, anchoring as much as possible but seeing all the lovely and interesting places. So any information would be great - anticipation is part of the pleasure!
Ciao

I hope you get a reply but the last post was 10 years ago!

Hi Angelo!
Just read your post and it's a very generous offer. Thank you! I have always loved Italy and would love to have more information about your area. In fact I just posted regarding "Croatia as a base" as I feel the general area has probably got more to offer than we Brits have recognised up to now but would equally be very happy to be based in northern Italy. Do you think I would find your area more expensive to keep a boat than Croatia? Is there a good place to keep a 33ft motorboat out of the water in winter near an airport?

Angelo has not posted on the forum for 10 years so an answer seems unlikely. However, there are many threads about Croatia if you do a search.
